A month ago we shared the cute idea of sewing a mini calendar into your wedding gown to commemorate your wedding day. Vicki Lee Newsom, of the event company Orange September, left a great comment on the post about how her daughter had her and her fiance’s names, their wedding date and their commitment to each other embroidered on her veil. Even better, the veil was the same one Vicki wore 29 years earlier when she married her daughter’s father.
Vicki offered to share a photo of this beautiful idea, and we’re so glad she did:
The font and dove graphic elements match those on the couple’s wedding invitations, and the blue embroidery was the bride’s something blue. Her mother’s veil, of course, was her something old and something borrowed.
As Vicki wrote us, “A lot of thought, heart and love went into this one small but very important touch, something that we will always cherish and hopefully will become a tradition in our family – maybe my son’s bride will choose to wear the veil and add their personal story, along with my grandchildren and so on and so on… could be a start to something beautiful!”
We couldn’t agree more. Thanks for sharing, Vicki!
