A Preston Bailey Wedding

Check out this beautiful New York City wedding Preston designed:

Isn’t the bride’s dress stunning?

Preston wanted to create something dramatic and meaningful: “We created a clean modern space for the wedding ceremony complete with colorful projections across the wall. When guests arrived, they walked into a winter wonderland scene.”

“…but when the couple said ‘I Do,’ the projections changed — turning into a blooming springtime scene.”

“This bride knew exactly what she wanted but was still open to my suggestions, and the groom, who is an artist and collector, had a very clear vision of originality, too.”

They wanted a reception completely different from their ceremony, so Preston designed a bold atmosphere with red draping, blue-lit chandeliers, and yellow centerpieces:

Says Preston, “Through working closely together for so many months, this couple and I became friends. I have such fond memories of planning their wedding.

In fact, I even traveled with them on their honeymoon! Well, kind of… By sheer coincidence, I was also going to Dubai, and we ended up sitting across the aisle from each other on the plane. The best part was that we got to chat about the wedding and discuss our favorite moments.”

Guests got to take home goodie bags with fresh donuts from the donut shop! Such a fun (and tasty!) idea.

I was lucky to have been at this wedding and its beauty has its roots in the beautiful, sweet and generous bride and groom and of course in Preston’s amazing vision. One of the things I’ll always remember is Marcy Bloom’s “morning after” breakfast bar. The old saying “beauty comes from the inside” has never been more true.
